Whats Your Application Style

When I started lashing, over ten years ago, lashes were loose, not nicely packaged in neat little rows. We had to struggle to pick them out of a bunch and prepare them for application. I'm so glad things have progressed. How are you using your palette? Are you working from a tile, jade stone or some other flat surface? Personally, I really like to switch things up. I’ve learned over time that the same repetitive motions can cause fatigue and muscle strain. Constant looking down and up can create tension in the neck and shoulders. So let's look at a few different styles.

Back of Your Hand & Ring

Try changing your technique. Working from the back of your hand is a nice change of pace. Utilizing this method eliminates the need to look up and down so you are just moving your arm and hand. You can use a lash wrap, lash dome or just the back of your hand to attach the lashes. A glue ring works well here too. This eases any strain and creates a more closed work area as you are now looking and working at eye level. Working from the back of the hand

Your Client's Forehead

My personal favorite is working from the client’s forehead. This may sound a bit strange and awkward for some, but for long-time lash artists it can be both a time and stress saver. Everything is right in front of you. No need to look to the side or up and down. It's so compact and easy. Glad Lash is working on a forehead palette for the lash artist who enjoys this application.
Lash headband This headband is designed to speed up your process. It facilitates a breathable, comfortable system for easy application. You can view this product in store now.
And remember, wear that mask if you are sensitive to fumes! Try these techniques and see which ones work the best for you. And remember to switch it up and take care of you!
