Wednesday Wink - My Eyesight Experience

Wink - Eyesight

Do you use glasses or magnifying tools in your eyelash practice? For over a decade of volume eye-lashing, I’ve been sans glasses, or zoom of any kind. That was, until shortly after my 32nd birthday. In November 2016 my 20/20 vision left me. My once perfect sight declined, in what felt like overnight. My mission immediately began - to find the most efficient way to reverse the damage done. In the last eight weeks I have been working a regime, and to my delight my vision seems to be improving. Of course, if you have any health concerns, always seek advice from your medical practitioner. This post is simply an account of what I've tried, not medical advice. Read on to find out about the changes I made.

Support from Supplements

Astaxanthin: Taken once a day, this vitamin was recommended to me by a client in her late 60’s, who is a professional writer. She said she owed keeping her eyes young to this affordable vitamin, so I felt it was worth a go. BioSil:It's known to strengthen hair, skin, and nails. I was curious if the collagen support could assist in repairing any aging tissue in my eyes, specifically the collagen in my retina. I have been taking this in its liquid form - five drops, day and night, in a ¼ cup of water.

Lifestyle Changes

Anti Inflammatory Regimen

For the past 60 days, MOST of my life has been sugar free. My goal has been to reduce my body’s inflammation, which I believe has helped far more than my eyesight, including raising my energy levels, and increasing my general ability to focus.

Reduced Blue Light

The blue light radiating from your electronic devices is not your friend. Luckily, most gadgets have a ‘night vision option’. I have switched this on 24/7 since the start of the year.

Meditation

Just because it couldn’t hurt... Over the last 30 day period, I have spent five minutes per day sitting quietly with my eyes closed, summoning gratitude for my perfect vision. Inspired by my latest read, “Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender” by David R. Hawkins, the author writes of people's accounts of wearing glasses all their life who achieve perfect vision by letting go of the belief that they needed glasses… Could you imagine if all healing was that easy?! Let me know how your eyes are treating you in the comments section below. For more wellness articles by me, check out my series, Move, Lash, BE Better. Until next wink xo
