Today, I'm sharing with you three great time-saving tips to help you move through your volume sets quickly and efficiently. Let's get right into it, shall we!

The Eyelashing Headband

For years, I’ve prepped my eyelash station on the back of my hand - that was, until I found the trusty headband station. Seconds can quickly add up to minutes when you are changing the direction of your gaze. When I switched to keeping my lashes and glue on a headband station, I was amazed to shed an impressive 30 minutes off my total service time - who would’ve guessed it could be soooo much?

The Taping Back Technique

This is a popular method used to expose hidden lashes. Not only does the taping back technique identify hidden layers, it can help you erase minutes of time spent isolating. Once you have extended 30-50% of the lashes, take a 2 ½ inch strip of 3m tape. Dull out the tape adhesive on the back of your hand (avoid using your client's forehead so you don't disturb their makeup or tan). With the tape facing toward you, lift up the existing extensions and tape them up to the clients lid. Place the extensions on the exposed lashes. Once you are finished, gently remove the tape, and then comb the lashes. Voilà, it's that easy! This method can be used for both classic and volume techniques - plus it's simple to execute!

Minimize Talking

We tend to grow close to our clients, and sometimes become confidants - hearing all the juicy details of our clients existence... Though, as you would know, talking leads to bouncy eyes in some clients, and definitely creates some lag time in your eye lash application. It doesn’t feel good to ask people to hush. Instead, I recommend putting on sounds that will give them no choice but to zen out… Check out my previous blog post on audio, that includes some nice relaxing sounds that will quiet even the chattiest client! Let me know how these tips help you and how much time you are saving. And, please share with us in the comments section any tips you might have to boost your lashing time! Until next wink ;) For six more tips to increase your speed, read this article.
