Wednesday Wink - 3 Tips for Perfecting Your Volume Fans

Perfect Volume Fans

Looking to turn a corner with your hand made fans? I find with my technique that the biggest changes result from the smallest shift in habits. Here are 3 tips for perfecting your volume fans.
  1. Notice the pressure you are applying with your tweezers. The pressure used to make volume fans is drastically different than classic application. Subtle movement is the most powerful skill. Go slow and notice how different pressure affects your lash styling. If you would like to train your hand to be more graceful, I recommend taking plenty of self practice time to create with no rush around you.
  2. Do your fans turn out perfect and then fall apart in the glue? If so, you may be squeezing too tight, in which case return to the tip above. Once that is mastered, make sure you are dipping the base of the fan directly in the center of your glue drop. Avoid, swiping through glue. The motion looks like a poke into the glue with base of lash. Go conservatively on the dip - less is more! Too much glue will cause the fan to fall apart and it may become difficult to mount onto the natural hair.
  3. Use great products. Having used every lash available, the Glad Lash volume fan options remain my favorite. My favorite: Glad lash Signature Mink Lashes. High quality and easy to shape into the fans of your dreams. It's no wonder they are award winning lashes! Make sure to find a great class or mentor if your feel like you need to turn a corner with your skills. There is nothing quite as valuable as an expert watching your autopilot and helping your course correction. How are you volume fans looking? Anything you want to work on?
