Make It Up Monday - The Inspirational Tilly Lockey, Makeup Super Hero

Tilly Lockey is a 13 year old with bionic arms. An almost fatal diagnosis of Meningococcal Septicaemia Strain B when she was just 15 months old left her an amputee. One day her mom promised her that she would have hands again, and thankfully she is now the proud recipient of Hero Arms which give her the freedom to do many activities that may have otherwise been too difficult, like putting on makeup! Tilly is so very impressive at only 13! She not only has a vibrant spirit but she wants to inspire other amputees. She has her own makeup tutorial channel on YouTube that is awesome. Her perspective is that she wants to show others what she can achieve with her super hero hands, not to show how to be pretty, which of course she is without a doubt! Having bionic arms sets her apart, but she just wants to be herself and create content that speaks to and inspires others to never lose hope or keep reaching for the stars. Tilly's story is one that we can all get behind and be inspired by. Makeup is not all about making the 'pretty' happen, but it's also about the power of accomplishment and always about the confidence. With HEROES like Tilly out there, the next generation is surely moving in the right direction with her as one of their spokespeople. What a stand out she is and what a beautiful gift she has to share with us. Be sure to check out more from Tilly on her YouTube Channel or Twitter. Uplifting stories like these are more of what we need in the beauty world!
