It seems like today, makeup artists and artists are exploring the boundaries and crossing over. In one of my recent articles, I spoke about out of this world EYElash and Brow looks that are taking our INSTA-world by storm. Today's write up will explore how the face and body are being used as a medium for art. Using the eye area as a canvas is nothing new for us because we play with eyeshadow and lashes all the time. But actually creating a piece of ART that incorporates the eye itself is defiantly innovative. For example, Tal Peleg is extraordinary at taking something in pop culture and making it into 'EYE' art... like the Stranger Things Christmas light illustration she created. Turning up the eye magic with his 'Cocktail Zipper' makeup, is 20 year old makeup artist Declan Welsh. As you can see, the attention to detail and product experimentation is beyond impressive. And to bring a vision to life on such a small canvas is truly remarkable! Check out more of Declan's work on Instagram @itsdeclanwelsh.

Taking a little trip south to speak to our lips next, makeup artist Vlada Haggerty just slays with every creation! She not only creates stunningly beautiful makeup but has taken lip art to a whole new level! From re-creating works of art to seriously BLINGING lips out with texture and unique items, she is on top of her game and that's not lip service! It's truly an amazing skill to be able to do what these artists are doing! The commitment and outside the box thinking that goes on is really inspirational. She uses lipstick, lipliner, and manipulates makeup products to make them look juicy or scintillating. And the special tool she uses to apply the bling is just 'WHOA'! Now let's talk about BODY art. Johannes Stotter is super talented and sees the whole human body as a canvas, which when painted can create LIVE art at its finest! When you first glance at his work, you see what the piece is, but THEN the actors move and you are in AWE that someone painted more than one individual's body to complete this work of art. To be able to conceptualize something like this is absolutely astonishing. The artist needs to be aware of contours of the skin, highlights and how to mesh the pieces of the body together to complete the transformation. Time consuming to say the least, but the pay off is just SO, SO GREAT! And hats off the to the models or actors who have the patience to get body painted and stay still for the audience so the concept may land on elated eyes. Makeup artists and artists alike are complimenting each other in these realms of creative enlightenment. All of these artists, and the many more out there doing similar work, are to be commended for pushing the boundaries, starting conversations and eliciting thought and awe. Bravo Bravo!! This is what art should be!
