Just as with any cosmetic procedure, it is important to do your research. I can't tell you how many times I've had to cover up a botched brow job. I've seen many in the few years I've been in this industry and it's something that can easily be avoided by taking the time to find a properly-trained and experienced artist.

They are especially hard to find in this day-and-age of altered photos and even more altered truths. So coming into the salon for a consultation is highly recommended before starting any microblading procedure.

At your consultation, you can get to know your artist, and see if they can fulfill your needs. Some artists are capable of doing things that others cannot. It is also crucial to establish a trusting relationship with your artist since tattooing of any kind can be a very personal experience.

Find the Right Microblading Style

An extensive portfolio is another vital component of a reputable artist. Being able to see a certain person's style can help you determine if they are a right fit for you. You can also tell how experienced they are. The more transformation photos they have, the more you can tell if they can cater to your needs. If you have certain skin conditions or even previous work, you'll feel more comfortable knowing that your selected artist has had previous experience in those areas.

Microblading Essentials: A Clean Environment

Lastly, it is absolutely imperative that your artist is well-educated in sanitation and blood exposure. Having a clean, sterile workspace is a sign of professionalism as well as an indication that you're in a safe environment. Working on the open skin can cause the risk of getting an infection or bloodborne diseases if the area is not properly sanitized.

Your safety should be the top priority, and if there's any indication otherwise, definitely consider halting any services. Be on the lookout and see if your client is using clean pre-sterilized tools, constantly replacing new gloves, and is using brand new single-use needles.
